When you use What Spider Is This?, photos you upload are sent to our identification service solely to generate a result and are not stored long-term. We may also collect basic, anonymous usage data (page views, approximate region) through privacy-friendly analytics, and any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
How We Use Information
We use the information to provide and improve the spider identification service, understand aggregate usage, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-Party Services
Image analysis is performed via the OpenAI API, and reference images are retrieved from Wikipedia. Anonymous analytics are provided by a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool. Each service handles data according to its own policy.
